Mary Kendall Community Services is a branch of the Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes.  The organization is a Christ-centered ministry of hope for the healing and wholeness for children and families by providing for the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of children and families.
Mary Kendall Community Services provides out-patient and school-based therapy along with Targeted Case Management.  The main office is located in Owensboro, KY.
 

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONApplicant is expected to provide behavioral health assessments, diagnostics, and clinical treatment for mental health and/or substance use/abuse for children, adults, and families.  Treatment plans are developed in coordination with the client and are designed to help address concerns, come to a greater understanding of self, and learn effective personal and interpersonal resource strategies.  Applicant is expected to build a relationship and maintain desire and willingness to help the client accomplish his/her individual goals.  Applicant will maintain client record(s) as directed by agency policies and procedures.
 MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Manage a caseload of clients who benefit from counseling services; document progress; maintain other required paperwork and engagement
  • Engage and facilitates family, individual, and group counseling, skill training, and education programs
  • Ability to complete comprehensive assessments, accurately perform assessments and determine diagnoses, and treatment plans with updates as applicable
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and competence with various populations, mental health/substance use needs, diversity in spiritual practices, degrees of traumatic experiences and complex psychological presentations
  • Participate in all required KyUMH trainings; attend staff and team meetings
  • Abide by all applicable policies, procedures, and program standards set by KyUMH and other pertinent regulatory authorities
  • Uphold and advance the values, ethics, knowledge, and mission of the profession/discipline while promoting the highest standards of practice
MINOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • May at times conduct therapy in client homes to ensure client obtains all benefits and services necessary to be successful in completing all treatment plan initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS FOR JOBEducation:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work
Must possess a current Professional License as required by Kentucky professional boards (LPCA, LPCC, LCADC, LCSW, MFTA, LMFT, etc.)

Experience:
Independently licensed
Minimum of 2 years experience in related field of licensure

 JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Valid Kentucky driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment testing including, but not limited to, fingerprint clearance, drug screen, and background check
