Pastor - Northbridge Church

The Teaching Pastor is a co-chair leader who serves together with the Executive Pastor. The Teaching Pastor will serve as the primary preacher in worship services and will design and implement the comprehensive system for adult spiritual formation. In addition, the Teaching Pastor will assist with other pastoral duties.

Preaching and Worship - The Teaching Pastor will serve as the primary preacher in worship services (approximately three Sundays per month).

• Plans the preaching calendar (Sunday and seasonal worship services) for each quarter (minimally) in consultation with the Lead Pastor.
• Prepares expository sermons grounded in and driven by the biblical text, through which the Pastor will invite hearers to surrender the pastor's lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and to incarnate the message of the biblical text. Calls the church to communion and baptize new believers.
• Speaks evangelistically, persuasively, authentically, and prophetically.
• Collaborates with the Worship Arts Coordinator in planning and leading worship services that invite a multigenerational congregation to respond to God’s person and work.
• Schedules other speakers to preach on those occasions (Sunday and seasonal worship services) when he/she steps aside to allow the congregation to hear another voice.
• Assists other pastors and staff with worship, sacraments, teaching, pastoral care, weddings, funerals, etc.

Spiritual Formation - The Teaching Pastor will work with the Elders overseeing the teaching and implementation of moving sidewalks within the church. With a focus on discipleship and developing leaders of households and ministries.

• Assist the Elder over small groups with the planning and training of small group leaders.
• Assist the Elder over family equipping them with the programs and development opportunities.
• Support and provide resources, teaching platforms, and seminars for the equipping of the family, men leaders, and generationally focused households.
• Recruits develops, evaluates, and supports leaders within the church.
• Help adults engage complex and controversial questions from a Christian worldview.

General Staff - The Teaching Pastor will weekly be involved with a hybrid employment model. Able and willing to work from home, travel to the church, and when needed, throughout the community.

• Attends weekly one-on-one meetings with the Executive Pastor
• Preaches or teaches in venues outside the congregation.
• Undertakes other duties and projects as needed.
