Paraeducator I - 3 hrs/day (Rio Tierra/PC#252743)

Position Summary: Assists one or more teachers with one-on-one or small group tutoring and/or in the direct care, supervision, and support of the children in a classroom setting. Maintains and prepares classroom materials, attendance records, health forms, and student files. Provides instructional assistance that reinforces learning to individuals or small groups of students.

Employee Type: Part-Time
Salary: $17.78 - $23.50 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience (new hire maximum of step 5).
Location: Rio Tierra Junior High

NOTE: PE Program (Girls Locker Room)

Hours: 3 hours/day
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Life Insurance available for employees who work 4+ hours per day (Full district contribution for 6+ hours/day; 50% contribution for 4-5.99 hours/day).

Education and ExperienceThe position requires the equivalent of a high school diploma plus experience working with students in a classroom or equivalent environment and successful completion of a competency exam.

Licenses and Certifications: May require a valid driver’s license. Approved competency examination. May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.

· NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
· Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma or High School Transcripts or equivalent (ex: GED))
· Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)
