Position Summary
The Solar Battery Technician is responsible for performing electrical installations on a variety of Enphase, Tesla, and Franklin batteries. Depending on experience, electrical installers will perform repairs and/ or replace systems, (IE…meter main panels, sub panels, outlet and switch repair and replacement, circuit additions, attic, and crawl work, troubleshooting ETC).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Primary focus will be solar and battery jobs and will include electrical installs during downtime.
- Performing installations to all or part of the residential or light commercial electrical system.
- To be able to perform repairs or to replace a part. Or ultimately replacing the whole system without supervision in homes or light commercial locations In Sonoma & Marin Counties.
- Providing excellent customer services to introduce or continue the customers experience while dealing with our company and our core values.
- Strong understanding of how Electrical system or equipment should optimally work.
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform the required repair or install.
- Identify HVAC issues (ductwork concerns, equipment condition) and call in to the office to get one of our HVAC technicians scheduled out to evaluate as a referral.
- Identify Plumbing issues and call in to the office to get one of our Plumbers scheduled out to evaluate as a referral.
- Educate customers on their new systems and operations of their equipment.
- Complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and orderly work areas.
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to lead and train electrical apprentice
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma/GED
- Solar experience with install and commission Enphase, Tesla, and Franklin Batteries.
- At least 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Installer.
- Able to follow directions, read electrical schematics, and site/blueprint drawings.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to use an iPad effectively, we are a paperless company, and everything is done on an iPad.
- Clean driving record.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
