Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing daily lesson and activities. The Teacher Assistant will add all necessary activities to brightwheel. Assistant will also communicate with parents throughout the day if needed through the parent communication app. Teacher Assistant are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.

This is a 4 day work week position. Potential to turn into full time.

Duties

  • Assist both toddler and preschool teachers with daily activities and transition as needed.
  • Input student daily activities into Brightwheel as needed.
  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, bubbly demeanor, and creativity
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack
  • Assist with potty breaks as needed
  • Complete all professional development trainings


Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience. Or must be trainable
  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full BFTS background check
  • Bubbly personality
  • Able to work 2 days-7:30am-2:15pm - 2 days12pm-6pm
  • This position has the opportunity to turn into full time hours.
