Job Description
The primary function of the Maintenance Manager is to provide leadership, management, and technical support on all things maintenance. Continuously improve performance of production equipment, preserve plant physical assets, and control maintenance labor and material budgets to achieve plant performance goals. Ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA, NFPA FDA, SQF and other regulations and standards.
 
Primary Responsibilities

This list is not all inclusive, other duties assigned as necessary by management.

Maintenance manager Functions
  • Lead maintenance staff in all areas of personnel safety with regards to all OSHA and NFPA regulations.
  • Participate in activities regarding team member recruitment, professional development, and performance, define training requirements, and manage time and attendance of technician staff.
  • Prioritizes maintenance activities by giving direction and support to maintenance supervisors and technicians on preventative and emergent work on production equipment.
  • Manages CMMS maintenance system by scheduling Preventative maintenance and emergent work.
  • Track all machine downtime, scheduling and documenting P/M’s, maintaining inventory of spares parts.
  • Assist Operations management to achieve P&L goals, safety standards, performance goals, and customer service standards.
  • Collaborates with CI and process engineering on capital projects (design and implementation, budget preparation) and process improvement projects.
  • Responsible for facility maintenance: HVAC, electrical distribution, etc.
  • Performs other job-related projects, duties and assignments as directed by Plant Management.
  • Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances which may require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.
    Interface with vendors and contractors providing services to the facility to ensure company needs are met.

Quality Assurance
  • Lead maintenance staff in all areas of food safety regarding GMP’s HACCP and sanitation.


Health and Safety
  • Ensure that teams use safe work practices and that safe working conditions exist.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
 
Requirements

Education and/ or Experience:
  • H.S. diploma required.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or project engineering, preferably in the food processing and consumer packaged goods industries
  • Degree or certifications in a maintenance related field preferred  
  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA requirements
  • Understanding of food safety practices in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft excel, word, outlook and CMMS system to plan and close work orders)

  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work long shifts of 10 hours or more, including days or nights, and some weekends.
