Salary: DOE

Position Summary:

 

Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of the information and communication systems of the cooperative and ensure proper protocol and integration with other systems as required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Maintains servers, computers, hardware, software, and other related devices by performing system diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and other maintenance as needed.
  2. Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  3. Enforces the Cyber Security policy and reports potential risks.
  4. Keeps inventory of IT assets used on the Co-op Network.
  5. Provides help desk support to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues reported to the IT Department.
  6. Executes and tests data backups and disaster recovery policies.
  7. Ensures compliance with the cooperative’s information system policies and reports any discrepancies to the IT Manager.
  8. Responsible for weekly reports on issues with the Co-op’s network and infrastructure.
  9. In addition to these responsibilities, may be assigned by the IT Manager to perform other duties from time to time.

 

Education:

 

Associate degree in computer science or a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred. Continuing education in computer hardware and software applications preferred.

 

Experience:

 

A minimum of five years of prior experience in a computer science-related field is required. 

 

Job Knowledge:

 

Must be able to maintain computers, servers, firewalls, NAS systems, and other related equipment. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Server, Azure, Microsoft Windows and various computer applications. Must have knowledge of communication and networking systems, protocols, and equipment.

 

Abilities and Skills:

 

  1. Technical knowledge in the installation, maintenance and operation of computers, printers, modems, and networks.
  2. Effective analytical, problem solving, and research skills required.
  3. Must have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to express technical information clearly and simply while working closely with other personnel.
  4. Provide end user support in a professional manner.
  5. Must be able to communicate with 3rd party vendors on technical planning and reporting.

 

Working Environment:

 

This position requires working most of the time inside an office building with normal office conditions. Must have ability to perform repetitive motions and possession of manual dexterity for duties such as dialing and keyboarding. Must be able to lift/move 25 pounds or more, as necessary without external assistance of personnel or mechanical aids.
