Job Description
Gibson Electrical LLC. is looking for motivated and hardworking individuals that are interested in becoming Electricians.
The Pre-Apprentices/Laborer position is for any individual who has not completed any level of an accredited apprenticeship program or who is not currently enrolled in an accredited apprenticeship program, but is interested in taking the first steps to become a Journeyman Electrician and having a fulfilling career in the electrical trade.
This full-time Position is a starting point for becoming a certified Journeyman. As a Pre-Apprentice, you will work for Gibson Electrical in a controlled environment to get a basic understanding of Safety, Tools, Equipment, Material, and Fundamentals of Electrical Construction.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's license & clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to do basic math
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to lift 80-100 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Flexible schedule
Preferred:
- Ability to read tape measure
- Personal tools for the job
- Some experience in electrical trade and/or construction
This full-time Pre-Apprentice position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities. Upon successful completion of the Probationary Period, full-time Pre-Apprentice electrician, would be eligible for an health care coverage and paid holidays. Full-time employees are eligible for paid vacation/PTO after one year of employment at Gibson Electrical LLC.
Gibson Electrical LLC. will act as a sponsor for Pre-Apprentices to enroll in the Apprenticeship program at IEC Central Ohio. Apprentices will receive On the Job Training from the Company and lab/classroom training from IEC.
All apprentices are eligible for Tuition payment arrangements with Gibson Electrical LLC.
Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship Program, Apprentices will be certified Journeyman with the State of Ohio.
