Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Saganing Food & Beverage Supervisor, prepare, maintain, and serve items for all Saganing food venues while offering excellent guest service. Use the MICROS system to close all sales and where appropriate register the sale; accept all forms of payment, register it correctly, and return correct change. Provide proper merchandising techniques to create a positive atmosphere for all guests.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Tend to guests requests for food and beverage in an efficient, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Explain all products available to assist guests with their purchasing decisions.
  • Compute orders balance using a cash register; prepare bank deposits and record income.
  • Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
  • Quote price and describe features of items for which money is received.
  • Give cash refunds and/or exchanges for unsatisfactory food or beverage items with managements approval.
  • Prep, assemble and prepare orders for guests.
  • Replenish food to the service area; clean and restock daily.
  • Ensure proper rotation of products is followed to ensure quality of the products.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Maintain all sanitation rules and regulations.
  • Maintain proper temperature on all food items. Maintain proper quality controls to ensure fresh and safe food and proper portion controls on all products.
  • Follow all department policies, specifically, the MICROS Card Policy and Bank Variance policy.
  • Keep till stocked and balanced at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in the production of food products when needed. Read and follow recipes to ensure consistent food production.
  • Maintain proper merchandising for all service areas.
  • Assist guests with carrying out their purchases to their cars if requested.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, and co-workers, and general public.
  • Promote and sell products and the amenities of Saganing Eagles Landing Casino.
  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up spills and clutter, and keeping work areas organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with team members to ensure guest service.
  • Contact with guest in the service of food and beverage.
  • Contact with the Shift Supervisor to ensure the success of the operation through communication and teamwork.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food service principles.
  • Knowledge of basic math, arithmetic and cash handling.
  • Knowledge of all menu items beverages, non-alcoholic, and alcoholic.
  • Skill in providing excellent guest service.
  • Skill in utilizing computer equipment and POS systems.
  • Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent guest service.
  • Ability to operate a cash register.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Ability to deal with the public under stressful situations.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with delivery of food and drinks.
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking.
  • Reach with arms and hands above shoulder level.
  • Normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Frequent walking in slippery and wet areas.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Cash handling, banking, or accounting experience.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass ServSafe certification.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
