Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Saganing Food & Beverage Supervisor, provide guests of the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino and Hotel have a world class standard of excellence experience, while following all alcohol service standards, policies and procedures set by Saganing. Prepare, deliver and refill drink orders, and respond to guest questions and requests. Handle all payment transactions accurately and timely.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Take beverage orders from serving team members or directly from guests.
  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Identify product, mix and serve alcoholic beverages and/or non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and procedures.
  • Identify bar needs and communicate to supervisor; set up, stock, clean, maintain, and break down work area.
  • Set up, stock, clean, maintain, and break down work area for each shift.
  • Serve food and beverage products in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Work in an efficient, timely and organized manner.
  • Remain professional and honest in dealing with guests and fellow team members.
  • Effectively, efficiently, and accurately follow documented procedures for cash handling, transaction reconciliation, Saganing banking practices, inventory protection, Point of Sale (POS) operations, and sales transactions throughout the guest experience process.
  • Understand and enforce the alcohol policy.
  • Complete opening and closing side work in a thorough manner.
  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up clutter and keeping work area organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with the serving of food and beverages.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, walking required.
  • Daily use of and proper service from trays is required.
  • Required to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to use arms to reach and lift above shoulders.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have normal auditory and good verbal communication.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Frequent walking in slippery and wet areas.
  • Frequent work in high demand business volumes, in the public eye, with stressful working conditions.
  • Situations where caution must be exercised sometimes occur when dealing with irate guests.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work all shifts.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bartending experience.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) Certification as part of SELCs commitment to responsible alcohol service throughout employment.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
