Event Captain

Vitria on the Square located on 15th Avenue and High St. in Columbus, Ohio is searching for a part-time Event Captain to join our team!

The Event Captain assists the Catering Events Manager in overseeing event staff and coordinating event functions to ensure that the groups are completely satisfied.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assists in conducting training of event staff in proper set up, serving and clean up procedures.
• Holds pre-staff meetings with event staff to review the specific needs of each group including service procedures, set-up, menus, order of service, and special request.
• May assist in scheduling and assigning duties to event staff.
• Ensures all set up and closing duties are completed as assigned; performs set up and closing duties as needed.
• Coordinates the timing of each course to correspond with the dining pace of the guests; performs all Event Server duties as needed.
• Prepares for events by organizing and gathering equipment.

• Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Position requires standing during entire shift

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least two years of experience in catering or fine dining
