Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate manufacturing processes, to create sequenced work instructions, to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, to implement mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) practices, to prioritize workflow and integrate standardization, and to update tooling requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manufacturing Engineering is necessary to ensure our assembly, fabrication, and production lines work efficiently and effectively to deliver a timely and defect-free product, which satisfies our customers.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for assemblies and sub-assemblies, then organize the production build process into a logical, efficient, and standardized series of operations using a manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Assist Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement and Quality by providing technical solutions.
  • Maintain EBOM, MBOM, and ABOM aircraft configuration.
  • Perform capability and productibility studies from engineering drawings.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for ways to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and speed (rate).
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and production.
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance
  • Implement LEAN process control techniques and procedures onto the manufacturing floor.
  • Evaluated new tooling required for legacy products.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement in costs through waste reduction.
  • Interpreted engineering drawings of assemblies and sub-assemblies and organizes the production process into a logical and efficient series of tasks.
  • Perform Root Cause analysis (RC) to determine failure, then recommend and implement Corrective Action (CA).
  • Resolve issues and delays in production.
  • Train production personnel in new and existing MES process.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
  • Work with Facilities and EH Manager to ensure all manufacturing processes and tooling adhere to the current EH standards.

Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e. g. CAD, MS Office)
  • Project management skills.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Ability to occasionally work late shifts or on a Saturday.

Education And Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity. Will consider candidates with less experience who demonstrate a willingness to learn and who have a strong aptitude regarding above requirements.
  • Knowledge of machining and automated machines is preferred.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Degree in engineering or related industry is a plus
