As our Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in overseeing the kitchen operations of our restaurant. You will work closely with restaurant leadership to create schedules and assignments for kitchen staff, as well as train new employees on kitchen procedures. Your leadership skills will be put to good use as you motivate colleagues to maintain our standards of excellence and ensure adherence to recipes and policies.


Responsibilities:

  • Train new employees on kitchen procedures.
  • Collaborate with restaurant leadership on shift schedules and assignments.
  • Monitor all kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Handle customer issues as they arise.
  • Assist CDC (Chef de Cuisine) in maintaining appropriate labor and food costs according to budget.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Assist CDC in menu planning as assigned.
  • Receive and appropriately store kitchen orders.


Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in restaurants preferred.
  • 2-4 years of food preparation experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of management experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Basic math and calculation skills
  • Work well with others
  • Positive attitude
  • Current certifications as required by state and local laws
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation rules
