Job Description – Facilities Technician

Job Details

Location: Millville, NJ

Shift: 12hr day shifts 2, 2, 3 schedule

Reports to: Plant Manager

Payrate: $17hr

Job Summary

The Facilities Technician will be the main point of contact to maintain a clean and functioning manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Performs cleaning, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks and services throughout assigned property.

  • Picks up trash and empties trash containers.

  • Performs light repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.

  • Assists with the cleaning and sanitizing of shared facilities and common spaces.

  • Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.

  • Performs limited grounds maintenance such as cleaning snow from sidewalks.

  • Examines property for safety hazards, reports problems to Facilities Manager or other appropriate staff.

  • Ensures that cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.

  • Modifies scope of cleaning and maintenance based on specified needs of the particular property (apartments, parking facilities, etc.)

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.

  • Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.

  • Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.

  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility.

  • Participates on emergency preparedness planning team.

  • Applies, or assists with application, for required environmental permits.

  • Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.

Requires Skills/Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.

  • Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.

  • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.

  • Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.

  • Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, customers, clients, and visitors to the property.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent  

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions 

  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English 

  • Required to regularly lift up to 50lbs 

  • Flexibility to work overtime and additional shifts based on business needs
