Salary Range: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour

Responsible for maintaining the medical records and patient charts for Healthcare Office.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1 year of EMR Electronic Medical Records systems experience
  • 6 months to 1 year of medical terminology
  • Prior experience working in a doctor’s office or medical setting is strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Retrieve charts on request for staff and respond to internal telephone requests for information.
  • Purge discharge charts according to procedure.
  • Inquire and update the database for off-site storage.
  • Focus on customer service and continually strive to perform the duties of their job in a manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction.
  • Prepare charts for external requests for PHI before review by the Compliance Department
  • Retrieve copies of information as required for billing, audits, on-site surveys, and other legal matters.
  • Process discharge charts according to procedure.
  • Attend compliance training and adhere to the organization’s standards of conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity/security of the Medical Records department and the patient charts.
  • Responsible for electronic medical record retrieval/printing from the Home Care automated system to fulfill requests from 3rd party payers and other governing bodies.
  • Identify, develop, and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of the services we provide.
  • Alphabetize and file all patient documentation using approved chart order.
  • Follow Medical Records department policies and procedures.
