POSITION SUMMARY

A Facilities Manager ensures the functionality including inspecting and maintaining restaurant refrigeration & cooking equipment as well as air conditioning & miscellaneous areas on the premises. This person collaborates with management staff to set safety protocols, perform routine maintenance, plan & execute new projects, plan & execute storm preparedness and perform emergency repairs. Managers assess the costs of maintaining workspaces and make recommendations for becoming a more efficient facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleaning and maintenance of all pertinent equipment.
  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior equipment.
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace.
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
  • Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
  • Respond to emergency on-call maintenance requests
  • Any other tasks as and when required by the management.

EDUCATION & TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate should have at least a high school diploma or GED and 5-10 years of on-the-job training from previous roles in the industry including building maintenance with advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems, as well as proficiency with repair tools and techniques. Completion of facilities management coursework in a technical or trade school, such as HVAC or plumbing is beneficial. An associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities management or an engineering field is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors, and team members. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, time management, organization and prioritization abilities are all required. Must have the ability to lift heavy equipment and be comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
