The Opportunity – We are looking to hire an experienced Director of Nursing to join our growing team at our sub-acute detox and residential substance abuse treatment facility. The Director of Nursing’s responsibilities include coordinating and supervising the nursing staff and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The Director of Nursing is required to direct client care, administer client medications, medical services as ordered by the physician, and take physician orders.

 

To be successful as a Director of Nursing, you must have strong written communication skills, proficiency with taking notes, ability to multi-task, and building relationships with others. This role is a vital member of the Good Landing Recovery System of Care and will be expected to assist our addiction treatment facility/patients in the areas of addictive disease and co-occurring mental health need. This position will also serve as the Infection Control Designee.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Medical Director and COO.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the nursing team, to include hiring, training, and performance management
  • Oversees and performs daily vital signs/glucose monitoring of clients
  • Maintains medical supply inventory
  • Oversees and performs medication distribution and documentation
  • Reports medical issues and emergencies to the Nurse Practitioner
  • Ensures all admission/discharge nursing duties are conducted and documented within required timeframes
  • Provides medication management and oversite ensuring accurate accounting of medication charting/procedures/training for all nursing staff
  • Maintains biohazard accounts and procedures to ensure an adherence to infection control procedures
  • Ensures that all compliance regulations are upheld such as HIPAA, CFR 42, CFR 45, and others.
  • Is on-call for their clients for complex emergencies
  • Attends and actively participates in Good Landing Recovery staff meetings and other meetings (in-service training/workshops) as required.
  • Responsible for providing various ecclesiastical duties in support of the company and company owner’s core beliefs to include, but not limited to, providing prayer to clients, and providing practical biblical guidance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience-

  • Master of Nursing Degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • RN licensure in the state of Georgia required.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
  • Experience with Federal and State regulatory guidelines
  • Experience with JCHAO/CARF
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a director role in a detox/residential environment.
