Summary:

The Construction Foreman is responsible for running the daily operations on the construction site and developing the short-term project schedule. The foreman will lead the crew in all construction tasks and ensure that the quality of work is upheld to the owners specifications. The foreman will enforce safety policies and procedures. The foreman will be the day-to-day point of contact with the engineer / onsite inspector.

Type of Work:

Water, Sewer, Drain, Earthwork, Curb, Sidewalk, Grading, and other Site-work.

Reports To:

Project Manager & Superintendent

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise construction crews, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to maximize job site efficiency and productivity.
  • Enforce quality control and safety policies on all aspects of construction.
  • Project layout and establishment of grades and elevations.
  • Create time-sheets, and daily reports complete with production quantities.
  • Comprehend project plans and specifications.
  • Have a clear understanding of measurement and payment for items.
  • Manage field relationships with the client's on-site representative.
  • Assist project manager with the transition between project phases, start-up, and close-out.
  • Identify extra work or change of conditions and report to project manager.
  • Ensure delivery receipts are collected and submitted daily.
  • Conduct daily huddle with crew.
  • Meet regularly with project manager to discuss scheduling, coordination of resources, changes to project scope, and production quantities.
  • Working foreman should be able to work within precise limits of standards of accuracy and make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Possess the leadership ability necessary to lead, motivate and direct the work of subordinates.
  • Physically, working foreman must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands, lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds, have good vision either naturally or with correction) and stand, stoop, kneel or crouch.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the above-mentioned type of work.
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Familiarity with Mass DOT standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
