Leader in Automation systems and Automotive Supplier looking for Electricians in Sterling Heights, MI

1st Shift: 6am-4pm

Pay:$26 based off class and experience

The Machine Tool Electrician is responsible for wiring machinery and associated equipment used primarily within robotic/automated assembly lines for the automotive industry. The electrician will be able to read and understand schematics.

Responsibilities and Duties for Machine Tool Electrician

  • Reads blueprints to interpret and implement electrical diagrams to wire mechanical assemblies.
  • Wiring robot controllers, j-boxes, panels, robots, assembly lines and building cable trays
  • Wire machinery from drawings and bill of material
  • Install communication blocks and wire Ethernet, auxiliary power and safety circuits
  • Wire 480V
  • Install temporary power
  • Bend and install conduit
  • Prepare tool with I/O block, Device Net and duct work
  • Verify tags, tag units and cords
  • Run cords and dress tool per customer requirements
  • Ability to drill, tap and ream holes
  • Maintains application skills for electrical components, circuits, J.I.C. electrical specifications, NEMA standards.
  • Provides assistance with standard tools of trade shop tooling (welder, etc.), and standard electrical components.
  • Assists setting tool sequencing, cycle time and tool interfacing.
  • Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
  • Operate various machine tools and equipment
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy.
  • Follow all safety rules, standards, and procedures at all times in all areas.
  • Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly.
  • Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products.

Qualifications of Machine Tool Electrician

  • Must be able to use hand tools
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints accurately
  • Ability to work as a team member and individually
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within the trade
  • Must have own tools
  • Good communication skills
