1st Shift: 6am – 2pm, overtime and weekends required.

As a Maintenance Electrician, at PPG Cedar Falls, Iowa plant, you will be a critical part of the maintenance team, ensuring that all equipment and machinery are performing at top notch!You will report to the Maintenance Manager. Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Key Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematics diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand and power tools. Use electrical test equipment.

• Repair electrostatic paint guns, and paint systems by diagnosing problems and repairing or replacing parts.

• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cable and wires between machines and equipment.

• Diagnoses and test malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures. Replaces damaged and broken wires and cables.

• Replaces faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, and motors and positions sensing devices.

• Work with various voltages including 480V, 240V, and 120V. Includes single and 3 phase circuits.

• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule and instructions following safety guidelines.

• Promote and utilize 5-S standards to improve efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.

• Communicate with painters and line leaders to support production.

Qualifications

• Self-starting and working unsupervised required.
• One to three years of previous maintenance experience is preferred.
• Formal classes or education in industrial maintenance is preferred.
• Experience with paint systems such as the Pro-Mix system is a PLUS.
• Journeyman electrical experience.
