Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Collections Specialist for our client in Dublin! You will be focused on managing overdue loan accounts. This role involves establishing and sustaining communication with members to negotiate payment solutions for delinquent accounts.
Responsibilities:
  • Initiate contact through phone calls, letters, or in-person visits with members to understand their situation and the reason behind their payment delays.
  • Encourage members in a professional and respectful manner to make payments to update and maintain their account status.
  • Analyze and provide assistance to members facing credit challenges, suggesting and implementing alternative payment arrangements.
  • Offer recommendations on actions such as repossessions, refinances, modifications, and charge-offs.
  • Advise on more complex accounts, working closely with management to devise strategies that limit financial losses.
  • Inform co-signers about the status of delinquent accounts.
  • Regularly update account information and maintain accurate records in the collections system.
  • Utilize various methods and resources to locate members with outdated contact information.
  • Coordinate legal counsel interaction concerning all transactions.
  • Explore recovery options for charged-off accounts, ensuring that payment plans are adhered to.
  • Handle payroll deduction queries and adjustments impacting loan repayment statuses.
  • Support members with the processing of credit life and/or disability insurance claims and manage bankruptcy filings when necessary.
  • Determine and earmark accounts for legal proceedings.
  • Report instances of fraud and forgery to law enforcement, and process insurance claims as needed.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is preferred.
  • A background in collections, consumer finance, and/or lending is essential.
  • 3-5 years of collections experience.
  • Experience in customer service and/or banking.
  • Familiarity with collections and bankruptcy laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, alongside general computer and office equipment usage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills are crucial.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Candidates should be capable of achieving Certified Financial Counselor status.
Pay:
$20.50-$25.50
