This is a Sr. level corporate AOT Engineer role, using prior experience to provide technical support for electrical, automation and controls systems across our business unit. This role will lead the electrical, power and controls systems execution and provide technical solutions to support local site engineering and operations.  Furthermore, this role allows one to coach and support the plant maintenance team to efficiently deliver quality electrical and Operational Technology support from commissioning through the end of life of these systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Guiding and managing plant projects based on your experience in Rockwell Automation control systems and Inductive Automations Ignition platform(s). 

  • Providing support for the successful development and execution of strategic capital projects.

  • Executing projects aligned with medium to long-term controls, network architecture, and plant floor strategies to drive efficiency, plant floor productivity, and innovation

  • Leading and managing internal and external electrical controls technicians who are responsible for maintaining and improving capital electrical controls solutions in support of business unit platform strategies. Supporting overall project design including line specification, project budgets, schedules, project justification and develops capital requests, including cash-flow forecast with amounts ranging from $1M to $10MM.

  • Identifying improvement opportunities for the plant processes, systems and facilities and assesses their economic feasibility.

  • Working and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure that projects meet operating expectations and are completed within authorized budgets and schedule constraints.

  • Collaborating with project teams, and internal/external technical resources to deliver performance improvements, technical advantages, and capital efficiencies.

  • Partnering with key stakeholders and provides technical leadership, direction, and subject matter expertise to Information Technology (IT), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Supply Chain Quality, Marketing, and other key leadership teams. 

  • Being responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

    Required Education:  Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the field of automation or controls engineering. ABET accredited program strong preference.

    Experience: 10+ years’ experience in Manufacturing and Packaging Technologies. Previous experience with a focus on electrical and control systems. Previous experience with food and beverage or consumer packaged goods companies is preferred. Previous experiences with budgeting in a manufacturing. Previous experience in plant operations and industrial environments is required. Experience in project engineering including scope definition, cost estimation and tracking.

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates project management, problem-solving, decision making, troubleshooting, communications, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work with a team and influence diverse groups at various levels and across functions. Proficient in the fundamentals of electrical automation and control systems. 

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the primary codes and safety requirements applicable to controls safety systems, robotics, and power distribution equipment and systems.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma concepts and ability to use a CAD System is preferred.

  • Ability to utilize application, programming, and integration experience through a variety of hardware/software.

  • Ability to develop knowledge of processing, packaging & facility systems along with food manufacturing, engineering, quality, sanitary design, and research functions.

  • Exhibits awareness of USDA, FDA, OSHA, EPA, City and/or State agencies, etc. for both manufacturing processes and building requirements.
