Position Summary:

Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.

Reports to: Director of PCU/ICU

Essential Functions of the position:

  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
  • Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
  • Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire
Licenses: Certified Nursing Aide preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
