Position Summary:

Performs and processes patient scintigraphic examinations and selected bioassays or therapeutic procedures.
Observes continuous radiation safety practices at all times as stipulated in the ALARA principle and mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Performs non-clinical activities pertinent to equipment maintenance and NRC regulations for quality control and radiation monitoring
 
Performs imaging and therapeutic procedures according to requirements and other duties to assure quality patient care.
 
Schedules patient procedures, documents patient information, presents proper patient information for interpretation and billing, and other non-clinical duties to support exam completion
 
Operates the CPCS system for the hospital and radiology
 
Demonstrates concern for the patient and co-workers by performing activities other than primary care needs
 
Provides age appropriate care to all patients



Reports to: Nuclear Medicine Supervisor


Minimum Education
Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Program Required
 
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
 
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
 
Required Licenses
[West Virginia, United States] Other
Certification from any two agencies: Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) (N), or licensed and registered radiologic technologist.
 
Minimum Work Experience
One year training with demonstrated proficiency in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
