Home Instead of South Sarasota County has been serving the region for 11 years with nonmedical home care services for seniors, including in-home care, such as dementia care, personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, outings, activities, and doctors’ appointments.

Job Overview, Full-Time CarePro

As a full-time CarePro, you’ll join the Home Instead team, working with aging clients in their homes and providing them with one-on-one care that allows them to live better for longer in their own homes.

 

Every day is different because human beings are different every day! You’ll bring your heart, your helping attitude, and the people skills you’ve acquired in life as well as the special training we provide you.

 

We are looking to fill multiple, full-time CarePro positions for a Monday to Friday schedule and some weekend availability.

Your duties may include:

Leaving shift comments for family and staff to review
Providing companionship and supportive listening
Reporting changes in the health or status of the client
Feeding clients
Maintaining patient’s health equipment
Responding to emergency situations
Transporting clients to appointments
Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities

As you grow into your role as a CarePro, you’ll enjoy training and development to nurture your skillsets and talents.

Some clients may need higher levels of care. For example:

·       Physical

·       Behavioral/emotional

·       Sensory-impaired

In which case, we provide that extra layer of training if that direction calls to you.

We help you ease into your new role by personally introducing you to new clients, discussing the client’s care plan and history together and making sure you and the client are comfortable from the start.

Your role as a CarePro is important—our clients rely on you! So, we reward our employees for accountability. We offer FREE gas cards when you reach these bi-weekly milestones:

·       25 hours of work per week - $15 gas card

·       30 hours+ of work per week - $25 gas card

What We Require of You

 

In addition to your compassionate heart and natural caregiving skills, here are some (but not all) requirements you must satisfy:

Clean DMV record.
Ability to pass a national background check.
Drug screen. We are a drug-free workplace.
Tuberculosis screening (within 90 days of your CarePro registration).
Safe, reliable transportation available to you at all times.
(2) two verifiable personal references.
(2) two verifiable work references (in addition to professional references).
Pass a Fit for Duty physical screening.
