The Search & Personalization Editor is responsible for the creation of data-driven, authoritative content to support business objectives for Sentry brands. This role will oversee search engine optimization and personalization editorial workflows and manage a team of Search & Personalization content writers in the creation of concise, precisely optimized content that serves user needs. This role will focus on the development and management of agile SEO and personalization content editorial processes while scaling SEO and personalization content production and speed to market.

What You'll Do

As a Search & Personalization Editor, you will:

  • Participate in strategic meetings with business units to ensure an accurate understanding of their business objective, the marketplace and target audience as it relates to Search (paid and organic) and personalization content strategies.
  • Manager the editorial process for all search (paid and organic) and personalization content to ensure user intent, keyword usage, and incorporation of on-page optimization best practices.
  • Identify new content ideation, creation, and optimization opportunities by leveraging analytics and metrics to measure all content assets designed for search impact and personalization efforts.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all management levels to ensure understanding of project scopes, timelines and budgets.  Ensure all writers are adhering to those requirements.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital and content teams to ensure all content aligns with marketing designs and all materials are presented in an effective layout for the business unit.
  • Assign search (paid and organic) and personalization freelance/internal writers and Sentry brand journalists to SEO and personalization content projects and help to train on search and personalization best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a library of search (paid and organic) and personalization product development documentation, workflow documentation, and training documentation.

Additionally, you will:

  • Develop a testing system in collaboration with the SEO Analyst and web/personalization teams to ensure the performance of search and personalization content and measure performance at 30-60-90 days from date of publication.
  • Document and benchmark organic performance goals for each asset while maintaining a regular cadence for content.
  • Partner with Search team and digital marketing director on the development of a SEO content product catalogue.
  • Maintain a search and personalization content calendar.
  • Manage the process for paid search ad copy and landing pages with a focus on conversion.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, SEO or related field)
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience
  • Extraordinary written and verbal communications skills, including editing and proofreading skills
  • An understanding of SEO best practices and trends and backend analytics to inform content direction
  • And understanding of evolving content consumption trends
  • Empathy, good emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity
  • A natural curiosity and passion to make content interesting, innovative and solve for user needs
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Ability to hold constructive conversations with leaders to determine the best approach to problem-solving for the business
  • Instinctual collaborator with the ability to manage multiple projects and build positive relationships with people across the organization
  • Performance driven marketer with a thirst for revenue driven activities and a focus on increasing the visibility and engagement of Sentry’s TAM (Totally Addressable Marketplace)
