Summary:

Responsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory.  Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory. Performs patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes, under the supervision of a medical technologist or section leader.  Enters all results into the computer system.  Maintains laboratory inventory.  Collects and processes specimens in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, phlebotomy, drug screen collections.

 


Required Education: 

Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Lab.

Required Certification: 

Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the ASCP, Certified MLT or equivalent agency preferred.
