Special Education Teacher - Rocklin, CA


As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating and implementing tailored educational programs for students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to ensure each student receives the individualized attention and resources necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles, abilities, and disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional development.
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and support staff to address student needs comprehensively.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid California teaching credential with Special Education authorization.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including autism, learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, and/or other developmental disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for advocating on behalf of students with special needs.
