Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time Contract Occupational Therapist Position

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract position in Opelousas, LA. We are openly interviewing for this school-based role and invite qualified professionals to apply. The successful candidate must meet all requirements set forth by local and state regulations, including holding a master's degree in Occupational Therapy and being licensed through the state board.

Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Active and valid state licensure through the Louisiana state board.
  • Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred.

Job Duties: As an Occupational Therapist in this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Conducting evaluations and assessments to determine students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
  2. Developing individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and collaborating with other professionals, teachers, and parents.
  3. Providing direct occupational therapy services to students, including interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor coordination, and activities of daily living.
  4. Monitoring students' progress, documenting therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes.
  5. Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure students' needs are met effectively.
  6. Providing education and guidance to parents and caregivers on strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals at home.
