Job Title:Entry Level Support Engineer 

Location: Columbus,OH (Candidates must be local!)

Pay Rate: $27/hr.

What’s the Job?
We are seeking a motivated TAPR Support Engineer to join our team and provide essential support for our Transmission Asset Performance and Renewal (TAPR) initiatives.  As a TAPR Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in coordinating with stakeholders, gathering documentation, and creating validation packages to justify asset renewal projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on entry-level engineering activities and projects, contributing to the timely completion of projects within approved schedules and budgets while ensuring employee and public safety. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Organize and develop validation packages for the TAPR Enhanced Needs Process within the region, utilizing asset outage, age, condition, and health data.
  2. Utilize the C55 Platform in collaboration with the TAPR team, creating investments for planned assets and documenting best practices.
  3. Assist TAPR Coordinators in creating Business Process Improvement Documents (BPIDs) for large programs within IRR.
  4. Provide support and guidance for internal and external data requests, including rate case filings, commission submissions, and general data inquiries.
  5. Demonstrate technical expertise by applying theory to solve well-defined problems, coordinating routine engineering tasks, and providing leadership as required.
  6. Contribute to project planning and organization, demonstrating problem-solving skills and initiative in seeking out new ideas and approaches.
  7. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and develop interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and teamwork.
  8. Develop business awareness and characteristics, applying economic analysis techniques and actively participating in professional organizations.

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program. (new graduates welcome)
  • Encouraged to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination for future PE licensing.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) must hold a PE license in any state or have a Master's or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET-accredited Bachelor's program.
