Job Description

Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (sending and receiving financial institutions, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g., payouts to shared economy providers), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), and more. The push payments market is estimated to be more than 80 trillion USD of payment volume globally.

This role will be a key member of the North America Visa Direct Ecosystem, Enabler & Product Solutions team which is building the infrastructure to drive Visa Direct's exponential growth.

He/she will be the product leader responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving Visa Direct product feature requirements, delivery, launch, and adoption of new features in North America. This role will be responsible for leading complex strategic initiatives to meet the requirements of large-scale adoption of Visa Direct products and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and successful delivery of bespoke ecosystem & product solutions for strategic clients (e.g., acquiring bank sponsors, acquirer processors, corporate treasury management banks, merchants, remitters and strategic fintech partners).

The role will be required to interact and influence others across multiple organizations and will need to have the ability to work across a matrix business organizational structure and closely liaison with architecture, technology, rules, and merchant acceptance teams.

The candidate requires strong understanding of the payments landscape and technologies, prior market research & analysis expertise and ability to co-design solutions with partners and guide them throughout the integration process.

Essential Functions:

Client Engagements

  • Partner closely with clients in consultative SME capacity to design and implement bespoke solutions.
  • Lead large scale integration initiatives with key Visa clients from concept though implementation.
  • Apply deep payments and treasury banking expertise to the development and implementation of new uses cases and integration patterns.
  • Become 201/301 level savvy with product and policy changes and serve as a subject matter expert for the North America Visa Direct team on Card, Account and Wallet endpoints, Yellow Pepper and Debit Processing Services.
  • Acquire deep understanding of Visa Direct API's to articulate complex API flows to clients.
  • Clearly articulate business requirements and partner with the product platform & technology teams to introduce new product features and enhancements.
  • Develop expert knowledge of relevant value-added services, identify opportunities for clients to benefit from utilizing those services, and build a convincing storyline for them to adopt & implement those services.
  • Coordinate customization work with the product platform and technology teams and ensure that bespoke solutions are built for future scale and adoption.
  • Engage early in the product development process in order to provide input in the design and development stage, manage business requirements documentation review and work with product owners to build out functional specs for deeper dive into new features.
  • Represent North America in internal global policy and product forums to weigh in on new product development initiatives, features and functionality as well as rules and mandates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business, product, technology, client services & other teams to drive best in class client solutions & product offerings based on regional market feedback.

Operational Excellence

  • Participate in RFI and RFP response initiatives articulating how Visa Direct product and Value-added services meet client requirements.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke solutions for clients to help generate additional business & revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct workshops to understand client needs, share product roadmaps, co-design solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at various levels (including executive leadership).
  • Produce solution presentations for internal stakeholder consumption and external client facing discussions.

Product Documentation

  • Manage periodic updates to product documentation and collaborate with global stakeholders on communication impacts including development of FAQs, internal memos, and Visa Business News (VBNs) articles.
  • Develop/approve business release articles and API release notes prior to client communication.
  • Deepen cross-functional coordination and provide direct input to enhance policy development, working closely with Ecosystem, Policy, Legal, Risk, and other business colleagues at the market, regional, and global levels.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Deep expertise in the design and implementation of payments products and services for treasury banking.
  • Knowledge of Restful APIs, ISO 8583, ISO 20222.
  • Experience with the SDLC and leading Initiatives
  • Well versed with money-movement with a special emphasis and subject matter expertise in debit, credit, cross-border money movement, open banking and digital products.
  • Possess good knowledge of RTP, ACH processing, bulk payments, and card schemes with an emphasis on Instant Payments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience in product management, product development, and payments processing with expertise in product and feature launches.
  • Possess a unique combination of product expertise, problem-solving ability, comfortable with rapid changes, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with direct interaction with clients in terms of product and/or technical solution engagements.
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of product business problems.
  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence successfully within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Fluency in PowerPoint, Excel and JIRA Experience implementing change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Team oriented, collaborative, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.
  • Detail oriented and highly execution focused by working in conjunction with various counterparts across multiple functional groups.
  • Organized, with a natural inclination for both strategic and tactical planning and turn strategy into tangible deliverables.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,200.00 to 191,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
