Full Time 40 hrs a week hourly

Fraser Wood Elements is a custom furniture store and wood shop. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our small team in our wood shop. Your day to day duties will consist of constructing solid wood furniture and ornamental pieces from rough lumber. This includes but is not limited to, processing lumber with heavy machinery, assembling (gluing), sanding, and finishing table tops and other components. Applicant should be familiar with use of the jointer, planer, table saw and any other tool that applies to the current project. Other tasks include cleaning and organizing the work space and occasional delivering and installing. The ideal candidate would be able to work well with the other team members as well as being able to work independently. Fraser Wood Elements in an equal opportunity employer. Requirements:

• Knowledge on basic wood joinery

• prior experience working in a woodshop using various hardwoods

• power tool knowledge and confidence in using them

• fast learner/willing to learn new things

• be an energetic, motivated, supportive, hard working, and cooperative team member

• must be able to repeatedly lift 75 pounds

• driving license and clean driving record

• excellent communication and time management skills

• ability to read and understand shop drawings

• steel toe boots and dust mask/respirator

• Able to work independently with minimal guidance

Responsibilities include but no limited to:

• process rough lumber into various forms (table tops, leg blanks, etc.)

• operate heavy machinery (table saw, jointer, planer, etc.)

• assist on deliveries and installs

• clean and organize the wood shop

• sand and apply finish (oil, stain, spray top coat, etc.)

• general machine maintenance (oil bearings, replace blades, etc.)

• follow all safety rules and guidelines

• construct hardwood furniture following shop drawings

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma

• 2 year woodworking experience required

Bonus experience:

• Knowledge in digital fabrication

• Experience using Festool Domino jointer

• CNC operation

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
