Job Summary

The successful candidate will deliver effective classroom instruction to our middle school students.

Responsibilities include:

• The efficient day-to-day management of the classroom.

• Complying with internal operational procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Co-operating with the support team and administration to meet the overall needs of the students.

• Utilizing classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom climate.

• Timely documentation of incidents and accidents that occur in their classroom.

• Evaluating student progress and maintaining all records as required, including but not limited to grade books, attendance records and student progress reports.

• Diagnosing and analyzing student progress for the purpose of providing targeted instruction based on student developmental needs.

• Identifying, documenting and referring students suspected of developmental delays.

• Utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to meet the individual needs of students.

• Adhering to the approved classroom schedule. • Following the approved classroom curriculum

• Complying with health and safety regulations to ensure the wellbeing of all students.

• Maintaining professional relationships between school, parents, regulators and other stakeholders.

• Educating parents on issues relating to their child’s academic progress.

• Maintaining regular contact with parents through parent-teacher conferences, telephone, and written communications.

. Encouraging parental involvement by participating in school activities and events, connecting home and school.

• Participating in ongoing professional development and keeping teaching credentials and skills current.

• Managing the classroom and supervising the proper care of equipment used.

• Assisting with the protection of student and school property.

• Performing other duties and projects as assigned by the school management team.

• Ensure that all areas are kept clean and tidy and free of trash.

Applicants must have the ability to participate in tasks that require moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).

Hours of work may vary. Typical schedules are set between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Basic PC skills

• Effective organizational skills

• Proficient oral and written communication skills

Essential Requirements:

• Must pass level II background screening

.• Must have a strong passion for working with children.

• Must be reliable and maintain acceptable attendance.

• Must be coachable.

• Must be an active team player

.• Creative problem-solving skills.
