Facilities Support

The Facilities Support assists in day-to-day duties as needed throughout the facility, such as replacing ceiling tiles, emergency lights and batteries, power washing, painting, general maintenance and is tasked with performing locker maintenance by changing locker combination, cleaning lockers, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Ability to work in warm temperatures, small spaces, and on ladders.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to use and operate tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner, utilizing safe work practices.
• Help with setup needs of the campus for normal, special, and last-minute events.
• Check the main meeting rooms, ensure that standard setup is in place and that rooms are clean.
• Monitor campus grounds for safety issues, trash, etc.
• Perform light landscaping on campus.
• Deliver and log mail and other incoming packages.
• Work with Facilities staff on special projects.
• May drive vehicle as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools used to perform job duties in area of expertise.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Valid California Driver’s License is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position’s duties are normally performed in a standard work environment based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort is required; therefore, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. He or she may be required to walk or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other similar machines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are dynamic. This requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. The employee will be using his or her personal vehicle; therefore, he or she must hold a valid driver’s license in the state where he or she is based and have appropriate auto insurance as required by law. The employee needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work assignments, and do well under pressure. He or she must also demonstrate professionalism and integrity, take initiative, and exercise confidentiality. Finally, the employee must understand and apply all school policies and procedures, follow instructions, be detailed oriented, and have good follow-through on all projects.
