Automotive Vehicle Porter

Job Summary

The Automotive Vehicle Porter at Grand Blanc Nissan is a full-time, hourly, individual contributor role responsible for the general condition of the vehicles that are received, maintained and sold by the dealership. The primary role of this position is to ensure that the dealership has clean, presentable vehicles that are ready for sale at any given time.

The Automotive Vehicle Porter at Grand Blanc Nissan is eligible for a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a benefit package including health, vision, and dental insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO) and 401K.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and detail vehicles upon delivery from factory or other dealerships
• Fill washer tanks with necessary chemicals and clean windows
• Clean interior of the vehicles including the dashboard, steering wheel and floor mats
• For used vehicles, clean or replace floor mats, clean and refurbish interior and exterior surfaces
• Vacuum, shampoo, clean, or condition interior upholstery, seats, carpets, floor mats and other surfaces
• Clean and detail engines
• Apply waxes, auto protective treatments, and polishes to auto exteriors
• Clip tires, clean wheels and buff the painted surfaces of vehicles
• Perform inspections or quality of repair work in order to guarantee necessary standards are met
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments including windshield repair, replacement of brake lights, headlight bulbs, oil filter replacement, and others

Requirements

• Previous experience in detailing, cleaning, or carwashing.
• Ability to drive standard transmission vehicles
• Solid technical understanding of auto detailing
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and products
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Flexibility with scheduling
• Excellent customer service skills
