JOB PURPOSE

The Materials Coordinator will provide support to the Packaging Team Leads and will ensure the ongoing compliance with quality standards, specifications, and procedures in an assigned work unit, including Packaging, Manufacturing, and Materials/Inventory areas of the Manufacturing Department. Will also perform other duties as assigned to help expedite the day-to-day manufacturing/packaging needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Review and perform verification steps on the Manufacturing Batch Records. i.e., lot and expiry date formatting by country and product type, area clearance, cleaning, and usage logs, and in-process checks and conducts periodic follow up inspections.
  • Perform and verify accuracy of material or components issued on the Component Pick List (MBR and PBR) and assist the Packaging/Issuing/Compounding Team Leaders in the component returns: ensure conformance to the principal of First In First Out (FIFO).
  • Print all shipper box and pallet labels required for the upcoming packaging order.
  • Monitor cleaning processes to ensure that procedures are being performed accurately.
  • Cross-train on Team Leaders responsibilities and backup Team Leaders in their absence.
  • Communicate production line needs to production team leads, supervisors, and support groups.
  • Assist team leads and machine operators in machine setup processes. Examine machine components for proper operation and maintenance, may make minor adjustments to various components of the machine to assure proper operation. Appraise maintenance personnel through the team lead or supervisor of needed repair or replacement.
  • Provide mentorship to individuals in training.
  • Support all site-to-site logistics to support the manufacturing process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Tasks require a variety of physical activities including: walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in manufacturing/packaging areas.
  • Maintain a current Food Handler Permit.
  • Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Knowledge of production and manufacturing systems, production and manufacturing machine operations, and quality control systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods and practices, including part and product codes and numbers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Baan systems, as well as OSHA/safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to perform routine mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, supervisors, team leaders, and coworkers.
