Public Area Attendant at Longfellow Hotel

Job Overview:

The Longfellow Hotel, a 48-room luxury boutique hotel, café, and spa, is seeking Public Area attendants to open and work in our new hotel.  Opening May 17, 2024, The Longfellow Hotel is already gaining recognition as one of the most highly anticipated openings in the US.

Our housekeeping team will maintain the standards and cleanliness of our rooms, public spaces and hotel while providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to our guests.  Additionally, this position will help foster the culture of The Longfellow Hotel throughout the Portland business community and will require a sense of playfulness to help rethink luxury accommodations. 

This position is well suited for individuals that have experience in housekeeping, and want to continue their journey in the rooms department of a luxury hotel.  This is an excellent opportunity to be part of something special from the ground up and reshape how people experience visiting Portland.

• Clean and maintain all public areas of our hotel. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Cleaning bathrooms from floor to ceiling with ecoLab chemicals
  • Dusting all furniture and molding
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Cleaning all gym equipment
• Report all Lost and Found articles to management
• Inspect all public areas for safety hazards
• Respond to guest requests

What you bring to the table:

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred
• Attention to detail
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
• Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

This job is based in Portland Maine at our property located at 754 Congress Street. From time to time, you will be expected to travel to venues and events outside of the Portland area, as the business demands.

The Longfellow Hotel is managed by Uncommon Hospitality, a family run hospitality company based in Portland, ME.  Longfellow Hotel will become the 4th managed property in the Uncommon portfolio which also includes The Francis Hotel (Portland), The Colonial Inn and The Admiral’s Inn (both in Ogunquit).

Job Type: Full-time and Part Time

Hourly rate: $18.50
