Job Description
As the Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing, you will manage and develop the property-based sales teams. Create and execute a strategic sales plan to generate and optimize room revenues, including business transient, group, contract, and Banquet and Catering revenue. In addition, this position will be responsible for the achievement of budgeted revenue numbers and communication of all sales and marketing efforts to achieve targets to GM and the Executive Committee. Work with the Corporate Director of Revenue Management and VP of Operations to achieve the desired revenue outcome.
This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in the hospitality industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Develop and execute sales and marketing plans aligned with overall business objectives.
- Integrate business plans into sales and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization's growth objectives.
- Provide leadership to the sales teams at each hotel, setting targets and motivating the teams to achieve and exceed sales goals.
- Collaborate closely with property DOSs, providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure the success of individual hotel sales teams.
- Foster relationships with key clients and partners to drive group and corporate bookings.
- Monitor and analyze Minimum Acceptable Rates (MAR) trends to optimize pricing and sales strategies.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the Profit and Loss (P&L) performance of the sales and marketing department, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations and Finance team to develop and manage budgets, forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Analyze the Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) index and implement strategies to enhance overall hotel revenue.
Marketing Campaigns:
- Plan and implement innovative marketing campaigns to target diverse customer segments.
- Utilize digital marketing, social media, and other channels to enhance brand visibility.
Revenue Optimization:
- Work closely with Revenue Management teams to optimize pricing strategies and revenue.
- Identify and implement revenue-generating initiatives across all properties.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with General Managers and other department heads to ensure alignment between sales/marketing strategies and operational goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and communication across the hotel portfolio.
The Model Qualifications
- Proven experience (at least five years) in senior/Regional/VP Sales and Marketing roles within the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
- Creative and innovative thinker.
