JOB SUMMARY:

Monitor patients and maintain safety and order of designated residential facilities. Orient and train RT staff, collaborates with team for staffing schedule/coverage and maintain appropriate staffing patterns based on census and organizational requirements. This is a leadership position and requires a high level of integrity, self-awareness, and ability to effectively coach and positively influence team members in their positions. Assure adherence to state statutes and rules, CARF standards, and federal regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Positively represents the organization and promotes Rimrock’s Mission to the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. RT Supervisors and the RT Coordinators are responsible for the operational day-to-day oversite in collaboration with the RT Supervisors and other coordinators.
  2. Acts as frontline leader and works collaboratively with other RT Coordinators and RT Supervisor to ensure consistent and effective processes for the success of the RT team.
  3. Responsible for providing orientation and training to new staff within the Rehabilitation Technician Team.
  4. Conduct rounds at all facilities each shift and provide ongoing direction and support to RT staff.
  5. Monitor and provide therapeutic supervision of patients and patient activities.
  6. Assure patients and staff maintain effective program schedule.
  7. Report all incidents, unusual events and emergencies immediately to the Director of RTs and On-Call Administration. Assure Incident Report Forms are appropriately utilized to document emergencies and patient care issues.
  8. Collaborates with RT Supervisor and Coordinators to ensure appropriate staffing coverage for open shifts.
  9. Conduct RT II Testing and Verification
  10. Work directly with Director of RTs, Supervisor , Program Director, members of the treatment team, and RTs to proactively remove barriers and develop tools and systems that promote excellence.
  11. All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or GED required. One year in related field and Rehabilitation Technician II experience strongly preferred. Knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to communicate and work with patients with addictions. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.


SKILLS: Must have strong interpersonal communication with a diverse team, including frontline and leadership team members; ability to take direction and work adjunctively with therapeutic team; provide empathy and possess knowledge of patients with addictions and implement positive reinforcement of patients. Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft software including Word, Excel and Outlook.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is indoors in an office environment with moderate noise. Intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 25 pounds, walking and stooping is required. A typical workday involves sitting, occasional use of a keyboard, reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing, approximately 70% of the time. Approximately 30% or less of the time is spent standing. Normal vision abilities required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB LOCATIONS: Involves everyday risks or discomforts, requiring normal safety precautions in a residential setting, patient care areas, sub-acute medical care area and personal or company patient transport vehicle. Some outdoor exposure when supervising patients outdoors and in recreation programming.
