The School of Engineering at Brown University has a new and exciting opportunity to hire a Faculty Administration Coordinator.

The Faculty Administration Coordinator supports the Manager of Faculty Administration by coordinating the appointment and promotion process for the School of Engineering (SoE), including: regular tenure and tenure-track faculty, research faculty, clinical faculty, lecturers, adjunct faculty; post docs; and visitors (paid and unpaid). The incumbent coordinates the administration, maintenance, updating and communication of the School’s promotion and advancement, review, hiring and reappointment policies. Coordinates the School data regarding faculty evaluations and searches. Ensures that annual evaluations of faculty, and evaluations of their courses, are conducted and filed, and manages the data produced by these processes. Coordinates the collection and storage of faculty data within the School for reporting and analysis.

The successful candidate, as a minimum, should have the following background:

Education and Experience

Associates degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience, plus 2 to 3 years of administrative experience. University experience, preferred.

Job Competencies

Strong organizational, administrative and time management skills.

Initiative and judgment to independently problem solve and prioritize workload in a multi-task environment while maintaining careful attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and implement short- and long-term goals independently, but also as a strong team member when the situation warrants.

Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

Very strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; previous experience in a multi-cultural, multi-language setting preferred.

Previous experience working with highly sensitive and confidential material and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information required.

Very high level of computer expertise and continued interest in maintaining skills: Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, database systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet.

Thorough knowledge of the visa application and compliance process preferred.

Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
