Job Purpose

Due to growth RWS IPS are searching for a Customer Onboarding Manager to join their team. The role holder will be responsible for monitoring and updating IP Law's for RWS's core IP services (Filing & Renewals). Additionally, the role holder will be accountable for managing patent restoration activity and support the legal function in maintaining RWS's IP portfolio, whilst, Providing steer and support to IPS Operations to mitigate lapse occurrence.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

    Review patent correspondence received from RWS agent network advising of IP law updates.
  • Monitor Patent & Trademark Office channels for IP law and official fee updates.
  • Work with IPS operations to assess impact of IP law updates.
  • Work with IPS operations and IPS technology teams to update internal systems with IP law updates.
  • Lead the communication of IP law updates to internal teams.
  • Enable the communication of IP law updates to customers.
  • Scope and identify impact of IP Official Fee increases.
  • Lead the communication of IP Official Fee increases to RWS internal teams and customers.
  • Input into selection of IP agents via the IPS Agent Management Forum.
  • Manage IP restoration activity.
  • Accountable for all customer and local agent communication during the IP restoration process.
  • Report on IP restoration activity and progress for IPS and Legal management team.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for any instances of lapse.
  • Work with the IPS Operational Excellence and Training team to address remedial action required for instances of lapse

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a qualified Patent Attorney.
  • Experience of managing patent restoration process
  • Advanced understanding of IP laws, regulations, and guidelines on a global level.
  • Full understanding of patent prosecution procedures, terminology, and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a timely manner in a fast paced, high volume and due date driven environment.
  • A self-starter, working without supervision and able to navigate across internal and external senior stakeholder groups.

Base Pay

$100,000 - $126,000 / year

Actual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
