We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our thriving team in the mortgage industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee all facets of our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial statements, financial reporting, tax, audit, budgets, and accounts payable/receivable. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Manage and supervise accounting department employees; responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership.
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Lead and manage the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Prepare and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process.
  • Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and team leadership skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in managerial accounting and financial management required.
  • Experience in the mortgage industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactive manner, address issues, and solve problems.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP).
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
