Responsibilities

As the Director, HR Business Partner, you will be an innovative and influential thought leader who collaborates with a broad range of stakeholders to develop and implement our people strategy, programs and initiatives. Leveraging your leadership, influencing, communication skills, broad HR expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and knack for encouraging teamwork, you will partner with leaders across the organization to deliver business results. You will be the strategic interface and primary relationship manager between HR Centers of Service and business units to ensure the effective delivery and use of the full range of HR practices to attract, retain, develop and deploy our teammates. This role with be part of a team that embodies and drives cultural spirit through the entire employment life cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the People Team to direct and influence its strategic direction in collaboration with other HR Centers of Service
  • Lead a team of HR professionals, providing direction, oversight, and career development. Ensure they provide high quality counsel, insight, and decision support to leaders and teams across areas of responsibility.
  • Lead and manage a team of Associate HR Business Partners to drive strategic HR initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Create deep and influential relationships with business leaders and actively participate on functional leadership teams as a subject matter expert, strategic partner, and trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with executive and senior leadership to understand organizational goals, strategy and challenges including, but not limited to recruiting, talent management and development, and retention. Align HR activities, policies, and strategies to help the business serve our patients and other stakeholders in optimal ways.
  • Serve as the strategic interface and primary relationship manager between HR Centers of Service and business units to ensure the effective delivery of the full life cycle of HR practices to attract, retain and develop our teammates, including; talent acquisition, development, performance management, total rewards, diversity/inclusion/belonging, organizational effectiveness, engagement, retention, HR processes and operations, communications and change management.
  • Be a thought leader who anticipates issues that have a significant impact on the organization or function and quickly discerns the best solution or approach. Actively spot HR opportunities that can help the business be more competitive and successfully leverage them.
  • Create constant value by reading, applying, and communicating data as information in order to influence decision-making processes in HR and the business. Show stakeholders how HR contributes to business strategy and results through data-fueled cause-and-effect relationships.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted storyteller and strategic thinker who sees the big picture and uses data insights to frame narratives to help others connect the dots.
  • Skillfully communicate and facilitate across all levels within the organization to both large and small audiences
  • Become recognized as a deep subject matter expert and effectively advise, guide and coach leaders and teammates on a variety of organizational issues and challenges in order to retain, develop and motivate teammates and leaders to achieve their fullest potential
  • Role model our value of Continuous Improvement by pursuing team, function and organizational improvements in process, service delivery, culture, leader and team effectiveness, and change management
  • Navigate the organization effectively and know when, where and how to interact to implement and execute scalable people strategies
  • Conduct research and analysis of macro market trends to stay up to date on outside factors that could impact the enterprise
  • Stay current with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and make recommendations to create or edit policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Consistently contribute to activities that strengthen SCAH culture and teammate experience. Actively promote SCAH’s culture and values and support leaders to reinforce desired behaviors. Champion diversity and foster inclusion and belonging.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Human Resources professional in a fast paced, highly complex, high-volume, customer focused environment
  • 5+ years of experience leading a Human Resources function in a regional or divisional capacity
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing high performing teams
  • BA/BS in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels of the enterprise
  • Strong influencing, consulting, and coaching skills
  • Proven track record of crafting and executing data driven strategies to achieve business results
  • Ability to work at all levels of the HR “stack” - strategic, operational, and tactical
  • A service-first, solution-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high quality work
  • A history of change leadership and personally influencing behavioral and philosophical change among business leaders and other key stakeholders
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including small and large group facilitation
  • Successful track record of driving diversity, inclusion and belonging strategy through all aspects of work
  • Demonstrated ability to operate ethically in all situations and handle highly sensitive matters effectively and with discretion
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize initiatives while navigating ambiguity
  • High degree of business acumen and literacy
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook and experience working with UKG Pro, Workday, or ADP
  • Ability to travel as required
