A/R Credit & Collections Specialist

Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with an hour lunch break. Overtime is occasionally necessary.

Summary: This position is responsible for maximizing timely collections for the Accounts Receivable Department while managing and reconciling assigned accounts. The ideal candidate will have call center or heavy call volume experience completing a minimum of 16-23 calls per day concerning account collections.

Essential functions:

  • Prioritize collection calls to maintain DSO and meet company delinquency goals, metrics/KPIs.
  • Establish good time management for daily AR, credit, and collection job requirements. Plan and maintain a program for the systematic follow-up and collection of amounts due.
  • Build strong relationships with sales and customers.
  • Ability to reconcile customer accounts.
  • Analyze risk exposure based on customer payment.
  • Review accounts to identify past-due customers and to determine the proper course of action.
  • Monitor credit limit compliance and take appropriate action when limits are exceeded; recommend credit limit changes.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong phone/email contact handling skills and active listening
  • Team player willing to help others as needed.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and best practices
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different styles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer applications and systems.

Competency: The Office Manager should have experience with office management-related duties and projects a professional and helpful demeanor; good written and oral communication skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office, detail-oriented, accurate, flexible, dependable, and a team player. Willingness to establish and maintain positive working relations. Ability to multitask, and work with limited supervision.

Work Environment: The position requires the employee to work inside the office. Uphold professionalism with Denali’s internal and external customers. Comply with best practices, and policy compliance, and have a strong work ethic.

Physical demands: The position primarily requires sitting, typing, and viewing a computer. Other less frequent physical demands include bending and lifting.

Travel: Minimal to no travel is expected for this position.

Preferred education and experience: High school diploma required with 5+ years’ Accounts Receivable/Credit and Collections experience and /or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting or standing at a desk, working on a computer and answering a phone.
