Summer Enrichment Program Seasonal Instructor


Overview:

The Summer Enrichment Program Instructor plays a pivotal role in providing children with a safe, enjoyable, and enriching summer camp experience. This position involves planning, organizing, and leading activities to facilitate learning, socialization, and fun for campers. The ideal candidate possesses enthusiasm, creativity, and strong communication skills to foster a positive camp environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise campers during all activities to ensure their safety.

2. Develop and implement daily schedules, lesson plans, and engaging activities.

3. Collaborate with the Youth & Family Manager, site coordinator, and fellow instructors to create a cohesive camp experience.

4. Enforce camp rules, policies, and procedures to maintain a structured environment.

5. Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, accidents, and camper issues.

6. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns.

7. Assist in organizing Days in The Park (DIP) events.


Requirements:

- Prior experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is required.

- Demonstrated experience in leading groups, planning, and executing activities.

- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred but not always required.


Skills:

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with campers, parents, and colleagues.

- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing conditions in a dynamic camp environment.

- Creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and empathy to engage and support campers.

- Basic computer literacy to assist with administrative tasks.

- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices when working with children.
