Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for defining, following, and executing timely maintenance, maintaining updated records of Key Performance Metrics (KPMs), controlling spare parts, and demonstrating a desire and ability to learn preventive/corrective maintenance systems along with facilities maintenance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: up to $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per day
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define, create, perform, and control tasks for plant industrial machines, including but not limited to sewing, quilting, and packing, ensuring effective safety, proper performance, and high-quality production of mattresses.
- Maintain records of machine downtime/uptime and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) for all operations equipment.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, and create databases for equipment and spare parts, maintaining minimums to prevent a loss of efficiency and production.
- Establish and maintain contact with machine manufacturers to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ensure facility security, including AC systems, offices, and common areas.
- Develop and execute a yearly facilities maintenance plan.
- Maintain an accurate plant layout.
- Oversee new equipment installation.
- Possess working knowledge of electrical installation at 120-240V and related maintenance.
- Have forklift experience and be internally responsible for forklift testing and qualification.
- Other related duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of mattress construction and/or sewing & quilting machines, bagger, and packing equipment.
- Critical thinking skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to operate in a diverse, fast-paced team environment are required.
- Working experience with electrical systems, electrical and ladder logic schematics.
- Hands-on experience in welding.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; preferably Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
