Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our event planning and execution. This leadership position requires strong strategic planning, operations management, and business development skills.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, logistics, vendor selection, and contract negotiation
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure successful event execution and achieve organizational goals
  • Lead a team of event coordinators and staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
  • Oversee the development of event timelines, production schedules, and critical path analysis
  • Monitor event budgets to ensure financial targets are met or exceeded
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of events and identify areas for improvement
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in event management

  • Operations management: Proven experience in managing complex operations, including logistics, staffing, and resource allocation

Work Environment

This is a remote position, with occasional in-person meetings around town. Your work environment may be of your own choosing, whether that’s in a home office, a co-working space, a coffee shop, or elsewhere. You are responsible for securing your own work location, including any fees associated with that work location.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

 

The employee in this position will be: sitting and working on a computer for up to eight (8) hours per day; typing and using a mouse; seeing, hearing and speaking both in person and over the phone; as well as other typical office duties.

 

One event days, the employee in this position will be: standing and walking for up to eight (8) hours per day; team lifting up to 50 lbs.; bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing; and may be subject to both indoor and outdoor environments, as well as a variety of weather conditions.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, which consists of 40 hours per week. Hours may increase during event weeks, but the employee will be notified in advance of any changes to the regular schedule.

 

Schedules will be made available at least two weeks in advance.

 

Travel

Occasional travel is required in this position around town. The employee will be responsible for having their own reliable transportation.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Five years of event planning or event management experience
  • Tech savvy and proficient in using Microsoft Word and Google Drive
  • Experience using the following software: Asana, Trello (or other task management software), Dubsado (or other client relationship management tool), Timeline Genius (or other event planning software)

 

Preferred Education

Four-year degree
