Here's the short list of typical competencies (not exhaustive, of course):

  • Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of the credit union's website, ensuring it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and optimized for search engines (SEO). WordPress experience is a plus.
  • Develop high-quality, engaging content for various digital platforms, including website, social media, email campaigns, and blogs. Including, maintaining content calendars, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Optimize content for SEO and member experience.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, retain members, and promote products and services.
  • Segment email lists for targeted messaging and personalized communication.
  • Track email performance metrics and optimize campaigns for better results.
  • Develop and manage paid advertising campaigns across various platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.).
  • Monitor ad spend, ROI, and KPIs to ensure efficient budget allocation.
  • Conduct A/B testing to refine ad creatives and targeting strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, social media engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Create regular reports detailing key metrics and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Set up and manage Google Analytics tracking for all campaigns.
  • Use data to inform marketing decisions and refine strategies.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all digital channels.
  • Ensure all digital marketing efforts adhere to industry regulations and internal policies, including those related to data security and member confidentiality.
  • Uphold the credit union's purpose and core values in all digital content and communications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal and external teams to achieve CU goals.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to implement innovative marketing strategies.

Last, but not least, here are the typical qualifications for this position:

  • A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Requires three to five years in similar or related experience.
  • Proven experience in content creation, digital marketing, and paid advertising.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (Google Analytics, social media management tools, email marketing software, etc.)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Professionalism, including attendance.
  • Detail-oriented, including grammar and typos.
  • Organization and basic project management, follow-through
  • Basic knowledge of credit union advertising regulations
  • Communication, both internal and external
  • Preferred (not required) skills: graphic design skills, WordPress content management system experience, financial education experience.
  • The Credit Union follows a hybrid work structure for some positions where employees can work remotely. On a weekly basis all WFH employees are required to be in office on Thursdays. Based on the demands of specific tasks or department requirements, WFH employees may need to be available for in office work at their manager's discretion. Working from the office may be necessary for certain collaborative tasks.
