Line Cook

Mama Shelter Los Angeles is seeking a talented and passionate PM Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a PM Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook exceptional food, adhering to kitchen standards.
• Engage in training programs to ensure proper execution of Mama's food and standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-prepared workstation consistently.
• Work quickly and efficiently to meet operational demands.
• Ensure clean and safe working conditions, minimizing waste and hazards.
• Communicate with Management regarding special needs, tasks, or responsibilities (e.g., parties, events, special orders).
• Coordinate with other Mama Members to maintain timely execution and adherence to food and quality standards during busy periods.
• Complete all orders promptly in accordance with kitchen standards.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of prior experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Evening Availability
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to be cross-trained in various kitchen tasks.
• Trustworthy and even-tempered.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for food.
• Solid work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position require the following:

• Ability to move quickly while maintaining safe lifting and twisting practices.
• Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods of time.
• Proficiency in performing physical cooking tasks for extended durations.
• Effective verbal communication skills and auditory perception.
• Ability to maintain focus
• Aptitude for tasting and smelling food items.
