Job Description

Are you passionate about shaping the minds and bodies of tomorrow's leaders? Are you ready to make a significant impact on the lives of young scholars eager to learn and grow? If so, Vanguard Classical School is looking for dedicated professionals like you to join our team and help us continue our mission of excellence in education.

As the Athletic Student Activities Director and Secondary Health Teacher at Vanguard Classical School, you will have the unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the holistic development of our students. Our school, nestled in the heart of Colorado, is committed to providing a rigorous education rooted in the Core Knowledge Curriculum Sequence, taught in the classical style. With students clad in school uniforms, we create an environment where academic achievement, character development, and physical wellness converge to foster well-rounded individuals prepared to excel in the world beyond our doors.

Picture yourself leading a dynamic athletic program that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. As the Athletic Student Activities Director, you will oversee a variety of sports teams and extracurricular activities aimed at engaging students in healthy competition and fostering a sense of camaraderie. From organizing games and tournaments to coaching and mentoring student athletes, you will be instrumental in instilling values of discipline, resilience, and leadership both on and off the field.

But that's not all - as the Secondary Health Teacher, you will have the opportunity to empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through engaging lessons and interactive discussions, you will cover topics such as nutrition, exercise, puberty, mental health, and substance abuse prevention, equipping students with the tools they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

Of course, as a member of our dedicated faculty, you will also be responsible for guiding students in their academic journey, maintaining accurate gradebooks, and upholding our school's rules and expectations of honor, achievement, world citizenship, and kindness. With classes held four days a week, you will have ample time to engage with students both inside and outside the classroom, building meaningful relationships and fostering a supportive learning environment.

At Vanguard Classical School, we believe in the power of education to transform lives, and we are looking for passionate individuals who share our vision to join our team. If you are ready to make a difference in the lives of our students and help shape the leaders of tomorrow, we encourage you to apply for the position of Athletic Student Activities Director and Secondary Health Teacher today.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, physical education, health education, or related field
  • Valid teaching license/certification
  • Prior experience in coaching or leading extracurricular activities preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the school's mission and values
